Random Update

A few weeks ago (before the wind tried to blow Rexburg off the map) the kids were spending most of their days outside. Riding bikes was a popular choice of activities. Cam is doing great on his big boy bike with the training wheels and can keep up with Paige with no problems. We rode our bikes all the way to Grammies and back!
Paige has been doing great with no training wheels and although it looks like she is doing the "look mom....no feet" move, she is actually about to tip over! (thus the helmet!)
This is Ali's new favorite position. She is quite feisty lately and prone to throwing fits about pretty much everything. She has been very attached to her paci lately but after not being able to find it for bedtime one night and Ali not seeming to notice, we decided that the pacifier days were over. I think Ryan and I were more sad about it than Ali. She never once asked for it. Our baby is growing up :(
This is Ali's favorite look. She sticks her bottom jaw out and bites her lip with her bottom teeth. It is quite funny because she is missing the two bottom eye teeth so the big gaps show when she does this.
After an exhausting day hanging out with Grammie Paige and Sammie cashed it in. Paige spent all day with Grammie, Grandpa, and Uncle Bill shopping. While she was out with them she decided that she no longer belonged to our family but now belonged to Grammie. She told Grammie that while they were out they needed to buy some treats for the Nurl kids. (The Nurl's being us). Don't ask me where she came up with that name. She then proceeded to call us the Nurls for the next few days. She even went so far as to say that I needed to come to our house and get all of her stuff (clothes, toys, etc) and drop them off at her new house. Luckily she decided (or forgot) and rejoined our family.
Ali has become quite artistic lately although her father does not really appreciate her canvas! Yeah, take a good look at that hardwood floor. Thank goodness for Mr. Clean magic eraser (like it never happened).

Princess Party!!

Paige had some princess friends over to celebrate her 4th birthday. She has been so excited to have this party and was not disappointed with the result! I think all of the girls had a great time.
After about 10 blows all four candles where finally out and the girls dug into their cupcakes.
The princesses played a game of kiss the frog, learned how to dance like a princess, and decorated their own crown. When I ask Paige what her favorite part of the party was she always says, "Annie". (Pictured above) She has quite the admiration for her right now.....and she pretty much didn't leave her side at the party :)
Paige kissing her frog.
My two little princesses. I tried to ship Ali off to Grammies but Paige insisted that Ali wanted to stay. I think she was right. Ali fit right in acting like one of the big girls for the whole party.

Happy Easter!

We started Easter of in Idaho style with a Snow Bunny!
Out of probably 60 pictures this is the only one where all kids are looking and not doing something silly :)
Cam being his usually studdly self....showing off that he continues to grow faster than I can buy pants!
I LOVE this picture. Total classic of these two.
And this one....belive it or not was about 30 seconds after the sad face Ali in the one above. She can shut it off just like that :)

Our First Egg!

After approximately 4 years of attempting to have egg laying birds we got our first egg this morning!
We first started with baby chicks. They grew, got ugly, made a mess, and then were either killed, ran away, or died before laying any eggs :(
Next we tried baby ducks. We heard the eggs are great and the mid-aged chicks are way cuter. We got fewer birds (less mess) and did our best. They did lay eggs....but never anywhere consistent and we always found them weeks later or smashed.
Finally, Ry took these full grown ladies on trade for part of a windshield (yes, totally old school bartering) and two days later.......TA DA......our first edible egg!

Goats and Goodbyes

My absolute favorite (and really only thing i like) about spring is the babies! They are everywhere. Baby cows, baby sheep, baby goats, baby pigs, baby chicks......i love them all. Our neighbors have quite the collection of animals and yesterday we got to go meet all the new baby goats.
Paige is usually our timid one around animals but she loved the fact that goats dont scratch or bite. A perfect match for her!
We sent our Uncle Austin off to the MTC on wednesday. It was a tearful and joyful departure. What a handsome missionary....wouldn't you say!
The saddest part of all was him leaving the kids. They LOVE Unlce Aust. He is great with kids and was the most sad about missing the next couple years of them growing up :( I love Ali's look in this photo.....very telling of her personality :)

Happy Valentines Day

Ali is quite the little firecracker. She is really trying hard to talk lately (I don't think she is too far behind Cam!). She loves to play with Cam and Paige, but also has no trouble playing alone. Many times we will be looking for her and she is in some corner playing quietly with toys. But don't let that fool you. She throws big fits when she doesn't get her way!
Cam "aka lady killer" is quite the little charmer. He is talking more and more everyday. He says the funniest things sometimes. Lately he will wake up in the morning and say, "where's daddy" to which I reply, "he is at work" and Cam will get a big smile and say, "NO he's golfing". He thinks he is SO funny! He is a little shadow to Paige and says pretty much any and everything she does about 1 second after she says it. Needless to say he pretty much drives her crazy. He likes to stare at her during breakfast, making her mad and start to cry. (They now both have to have their own cereal boxes to block each other from staring!) He also likes to pretend to be a monster and chase Paige around until she is in tears.

Paige is turning into a little school girl. She goes to preschool twice a week and really enjoys it. I think she enjoys the social aspect way more than the actual learning but what can I say.....she is my daughter! She is still way into princesses and Barbies and is constantly looking for someone to play with her. She asks me about 15 times a day, "mom, what do you want to do with me". She has been working on sleeping all night in her own bed. She first slept enough nights in a row to earn a Tangled dress, then enough more consecutive nights for a crown. Then one day she came home from school and said, "Mom, how many nights do I have to sleep in my bed to get an IPOD." That she gets from her dad.....she is a great negotiator. She is also always telling us, "Hey guys, here is your deal....." when trying to get us to do what she wants. She is very creative and loves to play pretend. She is a great big sister and spends lots of time playing with Cam and Ali.
