Ready or NOT!

Due to the fact that Paige is turning 1 in a few weeks you may be thinking that I am getting sentimental and reminiscing about when she joined our family, that is NOT the case! Surprise, (yes it was a surprise to us as well), it looks like baby #2 will grace our family with its presence sometime around September 18th. Yes that's right, we will have 2 kids under two! We are finally over the shock and ready to post the news to shock everyone else. We are currently both feeling as though it is a girl but will not know officially until sometime in May. My most pressing concern at the moment is making the decision between a repeat c-section or giving it a shot the normal way. I would love to hear your thoughts!

Congratulations! You'll be happy to have them so close! I'm all about the c-sections! I've done both and far prefer them! BUT, I would consider how many children you'd like to have. I had to have a c-section with my second and chose one for my third because I knew that was my last. I don't think I would have wanted to have the surgery several more times just because it will weaken things a bit each time.

If you are close to good medical care and feel like you could give natural a shot, why not? Definitely discuss with your doctor and what they're comfortable with. I had a doctor say that my third was in perfect position and didn't think there would be any problems at all going natural. I had already made up my mind (my recovery was soooo fast with my c-sections compared to Kali's birth!).

That's my 2 cents! Congrats again!

Jodie! I totally lost contact with everyone after we graduated, but Megan found me recently and I was able to find you through her blog! It looks like you guys are doing so great! Your little Paige is soo cute! Congratulations on #2. I have two kids and they are 19 months apart and I have to tell you that I really liked it. I was already used to the baby stage so when I had my second it wasn't much different then I was used to. You will definitely be busier but it will be fun! I would have to give a shout out for going natural(but I do have to say epiderals our a Godsend, I enjoyed the whole thing and recovery was great). My sister had 3 kids natural and 1 c-section and she said natural was definitely better. Especially the recovery! Well good luck with everything! I am excited to get back in touch! My blog is dsireland.blogspot.com!

Congratulations, Jodie! What great news! I'm sure Paige and this one will become very close, especially being close in age. As for the whole c-section thing, I've been wondering that myself! I had to have a c-section with Lydia, but with our next, if possible, I want to try natural. I know that sometimes, depending on the cut and how it went the first time, it can be dangerous to do natural after having a c-section. I'd just talk to your dr and see if he thinks it would be possible and what the implications would be, and then go from there! Congrats again!

Jodie I had heard the news but didn't want to comment until you made an official announcement. Congratulations, I'm so excited for you guys, you're the best parents. WOW though you're going to be a BUSY Mom! As far as the c-section, I'd listen to your doctor and besides you've got a while to decide. Again, we're SO happy for you. Harleigh can't wait until you find out what you are having, she thinks Paige needs a little sister so Ryan can live with three girls. She LOVES Ryan!

Fun first shot of the newest Orme family member! You're getting some interesting (and detailed) comments on your c-section vs. natural delivery debate... although I didn't think it was much of a debate for you. I hope the next couple months pass quickly so I can get back there and check out your baby bump!
